When you take the same bus every day, you start to get to know the people who also take that bus. Eventually, the bus stop becomes a location for brief encounters and conversations.
I wanted to enhance that...with lighting. I used a couple of Japanese lanterns and a bit of props. Then, I threw my friends in and made them sit there for a while.
During the installation, people stopped to ask questions. One of the bus drivers paused to look quizzically at them. Stephen said to him, "What? We're playing Spades."
